Des mains tendues, non vers le spectateur mais vers les deniers qui tombent... L'argent vient d'on ne sait où... Pas de la partie droite du tableau, où les anciens, dans la tradition orthodoxe plaçaient la main de Dieu! Cet argent, nimbé de rouge, c'est le prix du sang et c'est le reflet du vêtement du traître. Il préfigure en tombant la croix à venir.
Hands held out, not to the spectator but to the falling money ... Money comes from who knows where ... Not from the right side of the painting, where the elders, in the orthodox tradition, placed the hand of God! This silver, haloed with red, is the price of blood and reflects the garment of the traitor. Falling, it foreshadows the cross to come.
