Cette interprétation très personnelle de Broadwaya été réalisée entièrement en textile: velours, dentelles, tissus précieux ou teints.... Chaque building, chaque personnage, chaque enseigne a été travaillé séparément puis appliqué sur le fond, chaque inscription brodée à la machine, les mains guidant le trait. Ma volonté, en réalisant cette oeuvre magistrale, a été tout à la fois de traduire la poésie de ce lieu formillant de signaux visuels, tellement nombreux qu'on ne sait où regarder, et, en même temps, de poursuivre mes recherches sur la lumière, et toutes ses formes de réflection sur l'architecture urbaine.
ThThis very personal interpretation of Broadway was made entirely of textile: velvet, lace, precious or dyed fabrics.... Each building has been worked separately and then applied to the background, each inscription machine embroidered, the hands guiding the line. My will, by realizing this masterpiece, was both to translate the poetry of this place formillant of visual signals, so numerous that one does not know where to look, and also to continue my research on the light, and all its forms of reflection on the urban architecture.
